Hey, you.

I could start off with the usual "I'm so sorry blog that I've neglected you so" or "Oh wow, it's been a long time since I last blogged =O =O" or even "zomg! he posts!", but no, instead I shall start off by listing the phrases I will not start off with.

Instead, I shall tell you, dearest bloggy dear, about how I've FINISHED TRIALS.

Yup, you heard correctly. I am succumbing to the awfully conformist tradition of celebrating the end of the bad. I mean, it's not like everyone else had to rub it in that they had finished trials on Thursday, or even Wednesday, or some even as early as Tuesday or Monday. No, this isn't a way to strike envy in those who haven't finished, because there isn't anyone (from my school) who hasn't finished trials, unless there's some poor bugger who missed the Business Studies exam. But anywaaay...

This is the first time in -ages- that I've stayed up past 1am. I've been sleeping early like a good boy so I would be awake during exams. But now, I don't have to! Wheee.

RICE Rally is tomorrow. Should be fun!

I just caught an ant crawling on my arm. He paid for what he did >=(

Bye for now!

I feel the sudden urge to bitch about someone/something. I don't know what to bitch about though. There are so many retards on the internet that it's a wonder they managed to find themselves online.

The stupid is killing my brain. Grarwar.

Someone really needs to invent interesting homework. Or invent me the machine that will MOTIVATE me to do my homework.

Or someone can just WAKE UP FROM THEIR NAP so I, uhh, feel motivated to work. Yeah, that makes sense. Totally.

In an effort to expand my musical taste, I obtained this album at the request of Sid. I youtubed the first song, and was hooked. Such a delectably enjoyable album. It's got beat. It's got mellow. Ultimate boppy chill. The vocalist is teh sex <3. And! Asian drummer! Wheeeee

I should blog about Stars as well. Perhaps when I have a better grasp of their awesomeness.

Sorry, no musical analysis today. I'm all mellowed out. *sways to the beat*

First of all, despite the fear of colliding with certain cliches and allusions of lame-ness, I'd like to say sorry for neglecting you these few weeks bloggy-dear. It's just been soo hectic the past few weeks, what with school, and homework, and....Ok who am I kidding. I was lazy. Okay? Happy? You can punish me now =(

So now that I have decided to post in you, I needed something to talk about. Evie suggested physics, but I don't know enough about physics to make an informed post on it. I was considering ranting on about something trivial such as love and emotions, but I don't think such trivialities are worthy of this blog right now. While I -have- been rather contemplative about such issues as of late, I don't think they warrant any sort of rant/outburst. I will go on to say that I love not having any emotional attachments. It's so nice and free. You do miss certain...aspects of it, but then again, not having certain other aspects far outweigh the positive aspects. Now I'm just rambling. Blargh.

So what else? A list! Of the anime I am following:
- Nodame Cantabile
- Kanon
- Code Geass
- Bleach
- Death Note (barely)

Anime to-watch list:
- Honey and Clover II
- Haibane Renmei
- Manami Straight
- FLCL
- plus many many many more ><

What else happened? The creation of <3. Yes indeedy. x)

I'll post a post I posted on unplug for records sake. I think it shows just how much of a fangirl I am.

Jarlaxle Baenre wrote:

She can have ideals, fine, but she's going to be in control of the entire country! She needs to have a Roslin-inian turn quickly, or else I'm going to actually have to find a way to get Sunrise to kill her"

Well to be completely fair, I haven't watched Gundam Seed, so I haven't come across this archetype yet. And frankly, when considering her, I don't really take ideals into consideration. I'm imagining all these character in a war free world where everyone loves each other (except for Shirley, who gets no love). So to me, she is an ideal-less sweet and innocent pink haired sweetie. *nods*

I suppose, now that I think about it, it is her ideals in a small part that increases her appeal to me. I mean, she's my favourite Brittanian by far because of the whole pacifist/no war/hippy thing. Maybe I'm just weak. =X

"I really don't see Kallen/Lulu happening. I mean, I can see why other people see the ship, and I guess it's possible to happen (if C.C. dies (which she shouldn't) and if Shirley/Lulu gets broken up), but I just don't -see- it. What is it with you two? >_>"

If you consider it as Kallen/Lulu+Zero, then you can see where the ship is heading. She protects Zero's identity so much, and if she knew who Zero really was, she'd warm up to Lulu in no time. It's a much stronger pairing then the blasted Shirley/Lulu. I'm loyal to this ship because I sided with Kallen/Lulu from the start, before C.C was (re)introduced.

I said this to Meli last night, but C.C doesn't get nearly as much air time as she should. I'm actually really conflicted between Euphie and C.C as my favourite. It eventually came down to who had the cuter name <_<, which is why I'm dying now to know C.C's true name. I hate Sunrise for censoring those parts. Grr. Perhaps I'll alternate between the two, or have a tie. I <3 C.C's voice though, I was surprised it was the same Seiyuu as Tessa.

I've had my L's for a few weeks now. I parked for the first time today, in a car park, with cars in it. I also drove at night for the first time. 3ish hours down, 47 more to go.

Canon in D

You know I'm getting really bored
cause all songs have the same damn chords
Punk music is a joke
it's really just baroque
And I'm just paranoid nananana

It's argued that Kanon was named after Pachelbel's Canon in D. Incidentally, the original string quartet version of Canon in D can be heard in the background during Episode 1, Episode 11 and I'm told it's also heard in Episode 14 (which I have yet to see because a.f.k are being stingy about subbing it).

Behold the Pachelbel Rant (thanks to JB)

I love some of the comments on that, because they're so true.

"What's the definition of an alto?"

"A soprano who can sightread."

Ah, brilliant.

Kingdom Hearts II - Battle Report #1

  • Jan. 2nd, 2007 at 9:39 PM
Cloud
Well I finished Kingdom Hearts II, rather messily I might add. I basically just did all the things I needed to do to get the whole story told. I didn't go back around to complete Jiminy's Journal, I didn't verse Sephiroth, and I certainly didn't get the Final Form drive =X. Anyway, here's the Battle Report for records sake.

Battle Report

Game Level
Standard Mode
Completion of Jiminy's Journal
88%
Completion of Gummi Routes
4%
Healed Party Members
12 times
Saved by Mickey
1 time
Most Used Form
Valor Form 36 times
Used Anti Form
12 times
Most Used Summon
Genie 10 times

I laughed at the Gummi route completion. Oh well, now I know what happens at the end (not that it wasn't to be predicted). I think all up it took 35-37 hours, and I ended up somewhere around level 51 (I remember gaining level 51).

I leveled up Wisdom form once, and I never once leveled up Master form. In the end my Valor form ended up stronger then my Master form, and it lasted longer too. I didn't use Summons very much. All up I think I used Chicken Little once, Stitch once (without any enemies nearby), and Peter Pan only in the Cup Tournaments in the Colisseum. I think I preferred Drives to Summons. I think I also preferred Limits to Drives too. Oh well.

I shall now endeavour to either complete Jiminy's Journal (Sephiroth boss fight included) or play the game through Proud mode.

Yay it's out! It's out! a.f.k finally released it! Yayayayayaya! *does the happy dance*

/edit Now that I've watched it, let me say that I have missed my Kanon fixes. Mmmm, that was good.

The dramatic string background music returned, at an appropriately placed dramatic moment. The episode had a good mix of Mai's kickass sword swinging and Ayu's funny-ness. We also finally learned Shiori's last name, which opens up the story to Kaori, and I'm all for more Kaori x)

Mai is very pretty in a ballroom dress. She's also very pretty when blushing.

New Years Eve

I need more affection than you know...
So many ups and downs;
I need true emotions.

I've gone a fair way through Kingdom Hearts II. I'm up to the second round of The Pride Lands, clocking up somewhere around 25 hours by now. I can't beat the Titan cup for some reason. Somehow I failed without running out of hp. Oh well, I'll give it another shot after The Pride Lands Part 2.

KH2 started getting a bit repetitive, so I decided to start Final Fantasy X, and this time I didn't die in the beginning =X. So far it's been fairly enjoyable, although it's a bit of a pain since after every random battle someone seems to get an extra skill level (or whatever they're called). I'm thinking Square's intention was for the player to stock them up and do the leveling all in one go later.

For a game that's almost 4 years old now(?), it's pretty good graphically. It'd be nice to have a camera to look around, but I guess you can't have everything. There seems to be some audio lag too, but that could be my TV. Oh the price of widescreen+High-definition.

It's a shame I know so much about FFX already, having watched the 'crash yuna's wedding' and the 'kiss in the water' cutscenes, plus knowing that Tidus is a dream or something, but oh well. I wish they had more pre-rendered cutscenes. Square seems to love cutscenes; I feel like I'm watching FFX more then playing it =P, and there was a time I got my Oreos and crackers out and sat down to watch. Still, it's a nice break for all the button mashing in KH2.

Which reminds me, I still need to complete SW:KotOR II for the dark side ending.

New Years Resolutions?
- 95+ UAI
- Study..and not the night/morning before.
- Learn+memorise that piano piece.
- At least think about attempting maths homework.

That'll do for now.

"Something's getting in the way.
Something's just about to break.
I will try to find my place.."

After listening to some of their songs on Pramod's phone, and at the recommendation of Pramod, I decided to acquire Breaking Benjamin's albums. In particular, I have been listening to their latest album "Phobia". They sound similar to Story of the Year, in that they give off the same eerie and ghastly atmosphere. Their sound is considerably heavier and thicker, which I suppose can be attributed to being rock-ier. I think the singer's voice also contributes somewhat to their sound, having a strong mid-range reminiscent of Chad Kroeger's range.

I still need to listen to their earlier albums more, but I'm liking what them so far.

I finished Elfen Lied yesterday. I dislike series which pick up before the manga has finished and end up finishing mid-way through the manga. There's generally two ways to solve this. 1. Filler (which I despise) and 2. Create an alternate and original ending. While both have their benefits, I'd rather the anime to stay loyal to the manga. This is just the lazy side of me talking though, because now I have to get up and read the Elfen Lied manga to get the intended ending.

Overall though, Elfen Lied was enjoyable, even if it was rather predictable. The colour palette was rich and striking. And who didn't fall in love with Nyuu? <3<3

Christmas is almost upon us. Hurrah!

You know what?

No of course you don't. Rhetorical questions just make me sound smart.

Hah.

Is it possible to smoke a cigarette faster then someone else? Because taking 'drags' doesn't make it burn faster does it? I attempted to pursue the question, but I decided against tangling up the confinements of my brain.

I havn't seen many dresses around lately. Girls should wear dresses more. Especially cherry dresses. That cherry dress was nice. Yeah.

I started watching Elfen Lied. Pretty colours. Cute faces. It isn't awesome yet though.

I have no desk light. It's hurting my eyes.

That is all.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

A daily check of the usual websites produced the following:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2006-12-18/haruhi-suzumiya-website

http://asosbrigade.com/, a website that appears to be official, has been launched to promote The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and is being promoted across several prominent anime websites (including Anime News Network). Although the website seems to indicate that the series has been licensed, no further details have been officially announced.

So what does this mean? Hopefully it means I will have my hands on Melancholy DVDs by next year, just in time for the HSC! *bounces around*

Speaking of which, HSC results came out today. And I presented my Balloon Speech of Doom. Can you guess what colour the balloon was?
